Kick off the festival weekend with a party at Integrate HQ (hosted by the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria). Enjoy performances curated by Theatre SKAM in their Pop-Up Live Theatre that will be set up just outside HQ. Experience the art of fifteen amazing artists and musicians that call Victoria home. Music by LEANABOO and Sean Rea, with performance art by Anna Shkuratoff. Visit our Artists Page for more information on who will be featured in the HQ Gallery.

Madrona Gallery is pleased to present Morgana Wallace's third solo exhibition, Chronos. Wallace is a Victoria based artist who creates finely detailed mixed media collages of mythic characters and creatures. Each piece is exquisitely assembled from textured papers and water colour painting to create a layered, three dimensional image. In this collection Wallace draws inspiration from 19th century science-fiction novels to create a richly textured vision of alternate futures.

Pick up the map and brochure from Integrate HQ or at any of the participating locations and explore the fantastic arts community in Victoria! Gather your friends and family and stroll around town, or join us on our
bus tour or gallery walks to see as many art spaces as you can in one day. There are special events throughout the art crawl. Be sure to check hours of operation of each location, as there are a variety of daytime and night-time spaces.

For those who like to participate in the art crawl in a larger group, Integrate offers a free bus tour, an afternoon gallery walk, as well as an evening gallery walk.

    See Roy Green's new exhibition at Studio Robazzo and Lux et Voluptas III, an interactive lighting exhibition at Limbic Media.
  • The bus will head back to Integrate HQ immediately after the 7:30PM drop off.

Integrate will lead informal afternoon and evening walks to participation locations in the downtown area. The walks are self-guided, but our gallery coordinator, Rance, will be available to answer questions.

A free all-ages drop-in workshop with featured artist Shantael Sleight. Gathering inspiration from surrounding artwork included in the Integrate Arts Festival, families will have the opportunity to experiment with various styles, mark-making and colour blending to create their own mini-artwork on fabric.

Learn to craft beautiful string art pieces by creating curves with only straight lines! Participants can get creative with the design, colour choices, and the amount of detail in their piece. Examples presented will include line designs
by parabolas, star polygons and cardiods. Register for this free, all-ages workshop by emailing info@integratearts.ca.

Liberté Gallery is the latest addition to Victoria's roster of art spaces. It just opened this summer! Visit Soleil Mannion during the art crawl and chat with her about the space. Soleil's paintings are on display, along with the works of other contemporary local artists.

Legacy will be open during their regular Saturday hours for the art crawl, but will also be reopening at night between 6-9PM.

Join Legacy for printmaking in the evening! Based on their current exhibition, Out of the Frame: Salish Printmaking and inspired by Coast Salish artist Dylan Thomas’ image Salmon Spirits, this printmaking activity explores Thomas’ use of the tessellation image, giving visitors the opportunity to try their hand at this mathematical approach to image-making.

Theatre SKAM,  in partnership with Intrepid Theatre, will be curating a selection of performances by Fringe Fest artists in their black box theatre located on the back of a pickup truck! Performances rotate every 30-40 minutes. Be sure to check it out!

For one day only, Sierra Club will be hosting Wondrous: An exhibition of photography from the Great Bear Rainforest by Andrew S. Wright and others. On loan from Telus Science World. Don't miss out on seeing these gorgeous large scale photos of scenery that few have access to. During Integrate, Habit Coffee Chinatown will be hosting a new show by artists Marlaina Buch and Ross Macaulay titled Yackety Sax. Yackety Sax is a goofy jazz instrumental that opened Benny Hill's long running sketch comedy show. The piece is often used in film and television as a soundtrack to chase scenes and buffoonery. This show is a shout out to silliness, simple as that. 

If you'd like to meet Marlaina and Ross, drop by Habit around 2:00PM for a coffee and a chat!

The City of Victoria’s partnership with Open Space Arts Society has transformed Commercial Alley’s busy thoroughfare into an accessible, outdoor public art gallery for the past four years. Open Space and the City of Victoria are delighted to announce Daniel Ellingsen as the Commercial Alley artist for 2016. 

As a part of the 10th annual Integrate Arts Festival, the two organizations will host a opening reception of Ellingsen's new four-panel installation, Coastal Reports. The opening will include live music by Chris Sartisohn and lounging furniture provided by Used Everywhere Victoria.

Bio: Born in the UK, Daniel Ellingsen has lived and worked across Canada for the past thirty years, exhibiting in Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Toronto. He currently lives in the City of Victoria, and recently finished his MFA at the University of Victoria, where he presented his solo exhibition, Die Strandloper.

Standard Appreciation is a curated group show where each participating artists will be showing their work in a poster format. The show will provide a platform for numerous local (and far away but locally connected) artists to show together. The participants come from a variety of artistic backgrounds and will be drawing from their usual practice and medium to work within the format of a printed poster. The format of a poster has been chosen as a unifying theme, but also for it's its accessibility to the viewer. Posters will be for sale and we invite the audience to stop by and take in the show and take home a piece of art. Show runs from August 27 to September 10.

Studio Robazzo will host new large scale paintings by Roy Green for the festival weekend. Call of the Wild is an immersive painting installation. Psychedelic wildlife paintings intermingle with pop-culture references and art-historical icons to create a multi-layered reservoir of painterly pleasure and visual provocation.

Drop by the opening reception on Saturday night to meet Roy, and hear music from Apple Pipe, accompanied by musicians doing improvised live music. If you haven't been to Studio Robazzo before, it's a must-see space!

Lux et Voluptas is an annual interactive lighting exhibition hosted at Limbic Media's G++ Interactive Media Gallery. 2016 will mark the third installment of the popular event. It showcases innovative works by media artists who explore the opportunities and delight when art and technology comes together. Featured artists Lisa Eckert & Kaelyn Schmitt will perform a site-specific circus routine, while Andrew Paquet will demonstrate the analogue photography process of wet plate collodion.
