Sponsor Feature: Smoking Lily
Victorians know Smoking Lily as the teeny tiny storefront boutique on Lower Johnson St. packed with handmade treasures. To step into this store is truly a unique (and cozy!) experience... the shop is totally adorable and offers so many beautiful items. A must see for visitors to the city, but also a beloved local favourite. Fans on the mainland rejoiced when Smoking Lily opened their Vancouver shop on Main Street and Islanders also jumped for joy when a second location opened in Victoria on Government Street: The Milkman's Daughter. These three retail locations make up the public facing side of the business, but Smoking Lily also has a robust local studio operation where they produce their goods.
Smoking Lily sources most of their materials locally, or at least within Canada, but according to their website they're "not hard asses about it" - recognizing that our big beautiful world offers all kinds of inspiration and materials outside of our country limits. Instead, their focus is on making quality handmade goods that people truly love to wear - at home in Victoria, at an accessible cost. Offering local handmade goods at an affordable price is no easy task and Smoking Lily has mastered it to perfection.
