Gallery Feature: The Robert Bateman Centre
The Robert Bateman Centre is a relatively recent (and much welcomed!) addition to downtown Victoria's art community. Inhabiting the historic 1924 Steamship Terminal building on the inner harbour, The Centre is the largest public collection of Robert Bateman's work.
Inside The Bateman Centre, you'll find 10 galleries each featuring a different aspects of Bateman's work ranging from local British Columbian wildlife to the exotic animals of Africa. Two of the galleries are of special interest to children, so be sure to bring the kids along!
Visit The Bateman Centre at 470 Belleville St. or learn more on their website at batemancentre.org. You can also follow them on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for up to the minute news and photos of the Centre and its extensive event calendar.
